Both the men’s and ladies teams made us their charity of the year in 2009, raising a tremendous £4774.48 through a series of events for our funds.

To Diane Stephens for donations made by friends and family in memory of her husband John, who died in May. John worked for the Surrey Care Trust as an always-resourceful resources manager for many years and was also a regular volunteer on our Swingbridge boats. He had retired to Devon but continued to take on occasional project work for the Trust. Although already seriously ill in March, he thoroughly enjoyed a family trip on our Swingbridge 1 boat and a Surrey Care Trust reunion lunch. July 2010
