The Woking Learning Centre is managed by Richard Tweddle who is assisted by a team of trainers and a centre administrator. All our staff have a minimum qualification of PTLLs (Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector).
We operate with a minimum of two staff to ten young people, although in practice there are often more adults thanks to our regular volunteers, who provide additional learning support, working alongside students on a one to one basis. All our volunteers have enhanced DBS check and have completed a child protection course.
All staff have regular training in areas such as restorative approaches to behaviour management, curriculum development as well as specific behaviour issues such as ADHD. Training is also available to volunteers and all our mentors have to first complete our own training course.
