Businesses support our work in all kinds of ways.
Some companies like to to donate to particular areas of our work. We also promise that general donations are used where needed most.
Crisis Grants
Several local companies provide a major part of funds for our Crisis Grants scheme, giving an immediate helping hand to local people facing hardship.
Premier events
We have a lively fundraising gala social and sporting calendar, including a number of premier events geared for corporate fundraising with a difference.
We have a House of Commons dinner on Thursday September 30th, hosted by Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt and sponsored by Pope Anderson, and a Golf Day at Hindhead Golf Club on November 11th .
Sponsorship
Sponsorship of our fundraising events makes a huge contribution to their success. We are currently looking for sponsors for our Golf Day at Hindhead Golf Club on November 6th and a Winter’s Ball (a joint fundraiser with the SCDT charity) on November 26th.
Wear Something Wacky
We held our second Wear Something Wacky Week in 2010 and are asking busiresses to hold dress down days throughout the year, a Wear a Wacky Tie, a Dotty Day or a Wear Your Wellies to Work Day!
Volunteering
Your employees could enhance our work by
volunteering on an occasional or a regular basis.
Do you have space and venues we could use for
occasions such as our AGM or for fundraising events?
A number of companies have hosted visits from young
people on our learning programmes to give them a
taste of the world of work.
Newsletters
Sponsorship of our newsletters and annual Impact Report will help us keep our costs down and puts your name in front of our supporters and partners.
Sporting events
We have places available for the British 10k in 2010
and the London Marathon in 2011. Our own marathon of a walk through the Surrey countryside, the Surrey 3 Peaks - the STEPS Across Surrey challenge, is on Saturday September 25th 2010.
Lisa Lewis of Petrofac Engineering visits the STEPS Staines Learning Centre.
