More about STEPS Ahead
The programme runs four days a week with an extra day for work placements and forward planning.
Young people can join the programme at regular entry points throughout the year and can stay on it until they secure a job, or a training or college place.
The programme covers three broad sections: personal and social development, functional skills and vocational learning.
Each young person works at their own pace and can focus on areas of particular interest and usefulness to them.
