Dick was born in Yorkshire and has a degree in physics. Having worked in the electronics industry all his working life, the last fifteen of which were for Toshiba Information Systems UK Ltd, from where he retired in 2003 as Deputy Managing Director.
Loving most sports, Dick plays golf with his wife and swims regularly.
He has been a Trustee of the Surrey Care Trust since 1999,is currently Chairman, and is a member of the Arts and Business South Panel.
